Friends of Libraries Week: Beyond Data Viz: Data Art

Friends of Libraries Week: Beyond Data Viz: Data Art In-Person

Join us on Thursday, October 24th either at 2:30PM or 5:30PM to explore the fascinating intersection of data and art.

Gregory J. Matthews, PhD, will address the questions of what data art is, argue for the inevitability of data as a medium for art, and offer a brief overview of the history of data art. Dr. Matthews is a statistician and data artist at Loyola University Chicago who will lead us through a discussion of data art, followed by a presentation on creating data art using the statistical programming language R.

Participants will have the opportunity to print their projects for pickup at a later time. Refreshments will also be provided.
